„We present a suite of new climate model experiment designs for the Geoengineering Model Intercomparison Project (GeoMIP). This set of experiments, named GeoMIP6 (to be consistent with the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6), builds on the previous GeoMIP simulations, and has been expanded to address several further important topics, including key uncertainties in extreme events, the use of geoengineering as part of a portfolio of responses to climate change, and the relatively new idea of cirrus cloud thinning to allow more longwave radiation to escape to space.“

Geoengineering Monitor: Net Zero is not Zero: Inside the G7’s dystopian decarbonization scheme

„Last week in Germany the “Group of 7″[nbsp]countries (Canada, Japan, USA, Germany, United Kingdom, France, and Italy) declared that “deep cuts in global greenhouse gas emissions are required with a decarbonisation of the global economy over the course of this century.” Many interpreted this as a call to phase out fossil fuels by the end of the century. This[nbsp]interpretation deserves a closer look.“

Hopes&Fears: Why dont we just terraform Earth?

„Well, on Earth, geo-engineering is taken very seriously. As you may remember, there was a group up in British Columbia that tried to take geo-engineering into their own hands by dumping a lot of iron in an attempt to fertilize the ocean. It is certainly feasible, and, as some would argue, it’s desirable.“

„This paper addresses the economic impacts of implementing two SRM technologies; stratospheric sulfur injection and marine cloud brightening. By the use of a computable general equilibrium model, we estimate the economic impacts of climatic responses based on the results from two earth system models, MPI-ESM and NorESM.“
