Job: Ocean Chemist (Planetary Hydrogen)

No Deadline

„Planetary Hydrogen is on a mission to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere while generating negative-emissions H2. We believe that the ocean, being the largest store of carbon on the Earth’s surface, is the logical place to put it. We know how to do it, our challenge now is to ensure that it’s safe and prove that it’s effective. […] Our technology is based on co-founder Dr. Greg H. Rau’s pioneering work, which shows how electrochemistry can be used to accelerate the natural geochemical carbon cycle and sequester carbon in the ocean at a speed and scale relevant to the challenge of climate change mitigation. As a key leader in Planetary’s oceans team, you will work closely with the top minds in abiotic ocean CDR around the world. This includes organizations like Dalhousie University, Ocean Visions, CEA Consulting, GEOMAR, University of California – Santa Cruz, University of Miami and others. The Planetary Hydrogen technology hinges on successfully, safely and verifiably performing surface-ocean alkalinity enhancement. You will be responsible for working with scientific leaders and our business development team to perform and support early pilot studies around the world, create and socialize a science-supported carbon removal verification system, and consolidate work on safety and permitting into a central thesis. You’ll use science to inform industry and policy decision making, ensuring that the world gets a platform for the advancement of ocean CDR broadly.“
