About this Website
When the news portal was created nearly 15 years ago, the aim was to reflect the debate transparently. Following the IPCC special report on global warming of 1.5°C, the debate diversified and intensified rapidly. Given our limit resources, we can no longer meet our initial goal. Consequently, we have decided to focus the news portal on CDR-relevant literature and significant science policy documents.

The website is currently operated by the BMFTR-funded research missions CDRterra, CDRmare and the CDRatlas, which conduct research on terrestrial and marine CDR methods. It was initiated by the Department of Biogeochemical Modeling at GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel.
