CDR Atlas
The new “Carbon Removal Atlas” (CDR Atlas) project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research has been launched. The aim of the project is to compile and visualize the latest scientifically sound information on CO₂ removal from the atmosphere and its storage. The project will also draw on the results of the CDRterra and CDRmare research programs.
In future, decision-makers in governments, regulatory authorities, industry and the scientific community will be able to use the tool to compare potentials and identify relevant CDR measures from the local to the global level. The CDR Atlas thus serves as a tool that visualizes the qualitative and quantitative potential of nature-based and technical CDR solutions.
