„One of the most important geoengineering options is Solar Radiation Management (SRM). SRM aims at reflecting inbound sunlight back into space, reducing the amount of heat absorbed by the earth and lowering global temperatures.“
„Jonathan Gilligan, associate professor of Earth and environmental sciences and civil and environmental engineering, and a group of international researchers have illustrated potential international conflicts over climate change.“
„Australian scientists are rushing to develop new technologies — such as ways to block sunlight — to help preserve corals in the face of climate change.“
„Climate engineering sounds scary. But is coming whether we like it or not, this scientist says.“ (Interview with Holly Jean Buck)
„Spraying aerosols into the atmosphere may be fraught with risk, but to dismiss it out of hand is irresponsible, a climate scientist argues.“
German article on a green policy, including Solar Geoengineering.
„This project aims to investigate social legitimatization processes and deployment pathways of an effective supply chain. To do that, public attitudes, sentiments and discourses related to innovation will be analysed based a stakeholder survey instruments, focus groups, and social media data across Europe. For example, we will assess public options and perceptions (or misperceptions) of performance, risk, cost, and other factors. It will also collect information from relevant supply chain stakeholders, seeking to hurdles that need to be overcome and levers that can be exploited to successfully deploy these technologies. The results will allow us to develop strong evidence base for understanding and explaining the attitudes of different groups towards GeoEngineering and Negative Emissions innovation pathways.“
„With this post I want to throw down the gauntlet to folks in games and other industries that have benefited from the pandemic to do our part to help fix the climate. Yes — I’m talking about you. The example from those who contributed to this is just a small step. There is so much more to accomplish individually and together. #doyourpart today and share it to inspire others.”
