Monterey Country Now: A new speaker series tries to bridge environmental policy and regular people’s reality

„How does an egalitarian society reach equilibrium with nature? What role can religious people have in ocean conservation? What is geo-engineering? The Middlebury Institute of International Studies tackles these and other questions in the overlapping realms of activism, equity, climate, justice, law and economics in the student-driven Hayward Social and Environmental Justice Speaker Series. It’s funded by Hayward Lumber and co-sponsored by the school’s Center for the Blue Economy (CBE), a hub of research on ocean conservation and capitalization.“
