In startup Verdox, carbon capture meets electrification

The startup, developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, this week scored a $20 million investment from aluminum maker Norsk Hydro, which sees the technology as an important piece for decarbonizing its smelters. Verdox applies an electrochemical approach to absorb carbon dioxide, a method that uses no heat like other methods, according to Brian Baynes, co-founder and CEO of the company.
