CDR Swiss Webinar on ocean-based CDR

The recording of the CDR Swiss webinar from February 7, 2023 is now available online. This webinars focus was set on marine carbon dioxide removal (CDR) methods, including carbon storage in oceanic crust as well as in geological formations of the German North Sea. The webinar was moderated by Samuel Eberenz, Project Manager Energy and Climate at the Risk Dialogue Foundation. The two guest speakers were Prof. Dr. Gregor Rehder and Prof. Dr. Achim Kopf from CDRmare, who introduced to the different activities of the CDRmare research mission.

An OCB Workshop was held on September 27-30, 2022 (University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography, Narragansett, RI). The purpose of this panel was to continue the colloquy between the carbon removal and environmental justice communities by exploring some of the key issues that must be considered in seeking to reconcile the potential for large-scale deployment of carbon dioxide removal approaches and protection of the interests of some of the most vulnerable sectors of society.
